I am very pleased to announce – after much delay – the imminent release of The Six, a primer on Leadership Zen and the opening of the publishing arm of our group. It has been delayed (repeatedly) as I have had to learn Humility, understanding that the goal isn’t perfection in my own eyes. I spent more time editing my own work than I did in writing, which means that my perfectionist tendencies were coming into play.
How did I overcome it? I just wrote, and then I gave what I wrote to two people whom I trust to tell me what they thought about it. Because they do not live in my head they were able to see value, in their eyes, and that since that is my intended audience (others) it got me out of my own head and I sent it to the Kindle/iBooks formatter yesterday evening as a finished product.
Now I am on to Brink: Confessions of a Depressed Exec, which is a tell all book of someone who supposedly has it all, but realizes it is meaningless without understanding of oneself. While The Six is a practical primer, Brink is a very personal book I look forward to writing and sharing.
When you doubt yourself, think of what we’re trying to do here. We’re all full of doubt – me included. But I am all in on the Leadership Zen Group and the #CauseChange Foundation. We all have to find our calling. Now we have a stamp that says we are serious.
The Six is currently available on Amazon.com as a Kindle download. All proceeds will fund the #CauseChange Foundation and its mission in fighting cancer, investing in innovation, and promoting environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Please share – it’s an easy read.
